Could be chiggers
Common chiggers, also known as “jiggers” and “redbugs,” are tiny pests which belie their size in the amount of torment they cause humans. Chiggers attach themselves to tender skin areas to feed. The bites cause intense itching and small reddish welts. Because chiggers are so small, they are hard to avoid. Most persons cannot see them without a magnifying glass and so the bites may be the only indication that the bugs have infested a certain area.
I have a similiar problem except I have a huge group of them on my ankles only. I haven’t really slept for the past 2 nights either and have been up doing tons of research.
There are a lot of “cures” that tend to work. You might have heard of using hot wash cloths or a hair dryer…DONT DO THESE!!! Heat will only make the itching worse later. And don’t itch it at all no matter how much it itches. Scratching just causes scars and will make you itch a lot more later.
In your case I would go to a doctor and have him prescribe a steroid to speed up your recovery. If you don’t want to use those you can use some creams like benadryl anti itch cream or cortizone cream. Also you can make a mixture of water and baking SODA(not powder) and spread that on your bites. Those will help with the inflamation a little and with the itching. The thing that has worked best for me is cold water. Just get some really cold water in a bucket and soak your legs in them. The itch goes away almost instantly and stays gone for a while. It doesn’t heal anything faster but it will remove your itch for a while.
I strongly advise going to a doctor on top of everything. I hope you fell better soon!
dont play in anymore sand

seems like cortisone cream works.
make some very strong neem leaf or neem bark tea.
spray, but dont saturate your matress with it. let it dry thoroughly. do this every day for a week. If there were any bugs, they will be gone, and neem has no scent and is totally safe for us. it has been in human use for over 6000 years.
How can I tell if I have sand flea bites or something worse?
Well I just returned from my vacation on the beach. I seemed to develop about 3-4 normal looking insect/bug bites on the trip home. Well a couple of days after being home my family and myself starting breaking out in these insect bites all over our arms and legs. I’m not sure what it is but we went to the doctor and they didn’t think it was scabies but they weren’t really sure. Were taking medication to help the swelling but do you guys have any idea as to what this may be? I was starting to think it was like a rash/sand flea bites or hives maybe. I’m just not sure but the bumps are sort of wide spread and look like flea bites and they’re sensitive. Any help?

We were camping this weekend, went to the beach, and got bit up by sand fleas, We’ve never heard of them, but our neighbors told us to either put clear fingernail polish or witch-hazel on to heal the bites. We are itching like crazy and trying not to scratch, if anyone knows of a way to get fast relief, let us know, Benedryls not working either.
