An adult dog on a raw diet may consume only about two to four percent of its body weight. It is wise when you observe from its feeding that the dog is becoming fat or obese, you reduce the quantity given the dog. Also, if the dog is becoming lean, then you increase the meal size given to your dog.
Puppies and adolescent dogs eat more than adult dogs. Likewise the elderly or geriatric dog eats less than the adult dog due to the reduced movements of the dog. However, always remember to restrict the amounts of protein included in the diet of geriatric dogs for their are not in an ability to utilize it unlike the younger dogs.
