This can be done in several ways. While slow, the anti-flea medications you should be feeding your pet will help kill them off. The medicine is configured to be poisonous to fleas while safe for your pet. A faster, though more toxic way, is to use a flea bomb or fogger in all of the suite of your house. It takes more or less five hours per room to prepare it, use the bomb, and air it out for use again. If you spend a weekend bombing your home, you can expect to see a large reduction in flea bites.
Once you have begun the process, it is easy to get rid of fleas and keep them away. You can use non toxic herbs, such as Pennyroyal, Citronella and Lemongrass, to ward your home from fleas. Flea traps and rock salt can also be used to help killing off any fleas that might come into your home.
While you may think you can get rid of fleas quickly, this is not true. From the last occurrence of a flea bite, it takes a minimum of two years before there is no chance of a flea outbreak reoccurring. Make sure you have it first than just go to Wal Mart pick up a bottle of Nix, follow instructions, vacuum, wash all fabrics that she came into contact with & freeze the non washable fabrics for 72 hours (like pillows & stuffed toys). I know this sounds hard but believe me it’s worth it! You don’t want to let the lice spread so get rid of it now, make sure that anyone she has come into contact with knows about the lice & treats it or it could come back to you. Sorry!!!
People can get bitten by fleas (in fact, it was a disease carried by fleas that caused the plague in the Middle Ages) – but don’t worry too much about getting the plague! Some people are allergic to flea bites, though, so I wouldn’t let the cat sleep in your bed until you get some flea medicine. Often pet stores such as PetSmart and PetSupermarket will sell good flea products. Advantage works the fastest although Frontline is good too. These pet stores are open on Sundays so you can get the medication early. If you bathe your cat again, though, you must use a soap free shampoo or it will strip the flea medicine off. The medicine works with the natural oils in your cat’s skin and soap will dissolve the oils and take the Advantage off with it. My sister has three dogs, and allows the one to sleep in bed with her daughter. Today my neice was sent home from school because the teacher said she has fleas.
She was at my house all day but didn’t lay on couches or anything. I’m so worried that I might get fleas! We have no pets here and I didn’t really hug her or get too close to her.

How do you kill fleas on humans?
My boyfriend is quite hairy and has discovered dozens of fleas in his leg hair in the past couple days. I’ve herd that fleas only stay on human for a short while, but my boyfriend must be the exception. His legs are absolutly covered in bloody flea bites. He’ll take a bath to drown them all only to find they’re back on his legs the next day. We released a fogger or “bug bomb” indended to kill fleas in our house yesterday but this morning, he woke up and had dozens more in his leg hair. The strange thing is that I’ve only found a few on me and they don’t seem to bite me at all. He shaved his legs this morning hoping to reduce the problem. Is there any products out there for humans to protect against fleas? Any tips on killing them?
Can indoor cats get fleas without humans knowing?
This question has been in my head for while.
A few months back our vet found “flea dirt” on one of our cats and prescribed a flea treatment. When I brought the cat and Rx home, my boyfriend said that he doubted the diagnosis. His theory was if we had fleas, they would be attacking us as well as the cats.
At the time, only two cats had visible flea dirt, but everyone was treated. We no longer have any flea indicators.
