Flea bites on human beings appear to be a small, red mark that can take on the appearance of a scab. As fleas break through the uppermost layers of skin to reach blood, the bites tend to bleed, which is what forms the scab. The red mark may swell and itch, which is a standard response to a flea bite. In addition to this, where there is one bite, there is often a second or 3rd bite nearby, normally in a line. This is due to the fact that the flea will move and bite a second place on the same host. In the case of infestations, this can result in a large number of bites in a short period of time. Click Here
Flea bites on humans can have several consequences. The obvious one is two weeks of soreness from where the bite occurred. This is easily treated through use of lotions and applications, and will cause no long term effects, unless you have an allergic reaction to flea bites. If you have an allergy to flea bites, fleas can cause severe effects, and use of an epi pen or medicine may be required.
In addition to this, flea bites on humans can lead to disease. Fleas, like many blood sucking insects, can transmit a diversity of diseases to human prey. This can have devastating long term health consequences. If you have been bitten by a flea and notice symptoms other than swelling, itching and irritation, refer your doctor immediately. This may be a signal that you have contracted a disease from the flea bit.
Flea bites on humans can be a little more difficult to treat than on pets. Dissimilar for cats and dogs, there are no medications like Front Line or Advantage that you can take to forbid fleas from biting you. Due to this, you will need to right away address the problem of the infestation before you are bitten more. Common methods to treat flea infestations is to set up repellent wards to keep fleas outside of your home. For the fleas that have already gotten inside, you will need to kill them. This can be done through products such as flea foggers and dehumidifying your home.
If you are suffering from a flea infestation in your home, you may be responsible for flea bites on humans at your work. Wash your clothes frequently, and protect your coworkers from your fleas. If you have flea problems, use natural repellents to keep them off of you when you go to work or send your children to school. A few minutes of your effort can prevent those you associate from suffering from a bite. Click Here

Ugh… I hate fleas.
Okay, so you’ve bombed, vaccumed, sprayed and you still have fleas? It’s possible they’re in the padding of your carpet. Are your pets on Frontline or Advantage? If not, then get some.
Wash all your bedding and towels in hot water.
For your bites, the best thing I’ve found is a bar of “Felles Naptha” it’s a bar laundry soap. Get it slightly damp and rub it on the bites… dries them right up.
I feel your pain! I once had them sooo bad that I had to remove all the carpet and padding from my house and switch to wood floors. Expensive, but well worth it.
one bite per flea, that would be about a million fleas to make a million bites. inflammation caused by flea bite would go away in about 12-24 hours, like you have it now and when you wake up the next day, its all gone. (as long as you don’t irritate it and you don’t get new ones). Try some menthol lotion or oil to get rid of the itch so that you are not tempted to scratch and irritate it further.
On you or the dog?
For humans, I use a solution of meat tenderizer and warm water (you won’t need much water, just enough to dissolve the powder.) I know it sounds weird, but it works really well. I’m not sure if this would work for the dog though.
you may itch for a few days. sounds like you’ve got a pretty bad infestation and you might have to bug bomb your house but here’s a few things worth trying first and just good as common practice.
soak your cats’ collars in oil of pennyroyal. this will drive the fleas away. repeat every two weeks. hanging bunches of the herb where the cats sleep and spend the most time is also a good idea. a pillow of camomile flowers also drive the fleas away.
try putting aloe on your flea bites
-pennyroyal also drives away mosquitoes
good luck
take it easy
if she has the infestation and you were there, you were Fair game for the fleas also.
Flea bites?
I have been out of my home for about a week or so because of flea infestion…i have bombed the house (which i hate) 3 times, and sprayed around the the perimeter twice, vacuumed before and after pest control treatments…
What can i do to solve the flea problem, I have carpet in 3 rooms and that is where the fleas seem to nest. I know fleas can live for awhile without a blood source and reproduce at spastic rates….are there any ways to completly rid my house of these horrible little monsters FOR GOOD??!!
I also have numerous flea bites, are there any treatments that i can put on the bites, anything all natural…??
thank you all! <3luddie
Flea Bites?
Okay so this morning i wake up to find like a million bites on my legs and feet. This has never happened before. We do have an animal that has flea problems but we keep things under wraps with the dog like flea collar and spray. This is the first time anyone in the house has been bitten. No one else in my family has been affected but me. I would like to know can just one flea do this and how long usually does it take for the bites to go away?
How soon do flea bites appear after being bitten?
My sister has a flea infestation in her house, and a few hours after going home to my place, I’ve now got several flea bites. Trouble is, I’m not sure if they’re from her place or from my own cat. Could flea bites take hours to appear or is it more likely the fleas are in my own home?
